In middle school I had an awesome teacher who read "Where the red fern grows" by Wilson Rawls. This book has too many life lessons in it to mention them all here. I recommend everyone young or old should pick up a copy and enjoy it. The story is about a boy who learns to work very hard to buy himself a pair of redbone coonhound hunting dogs. Even after all the hard work to buy the dogs he learns there are many other obstacles to overcome. Many of these life lessons have come to play in my own life. At one point there is a very large tree that Billy has to cut down to satisfy his dogs natural desire to "finish the hunt". His perseverance pays off. My son was diagnosed with dyslexia and it seems that right now we are chopping down the largest tree in the forest. We will keep chopping away until he reaches his full potential for a love of reading! This book inspired me so much that I jumped many hurdles to have my own redbone. Daisy 2005-2016
