Nom du directeur ou de la directrice : Tracy Drefko Radisson Park is considered a high-needs school, and our student population continues to grow in both academic and language diversity. We have a school-wide focus on developing and strengthening the reading skills of our students, with the goal of encouraging the love of reading while developing critical thinking skills through literacy in all curricular areas. To support intentional teaching and engage children in joyful, thoughtful reading, our students need many opportunities to practice and apply their skills by reading current quality literature. Many of our library and classroom books are dated, though, and so our goal is to increase access to quality books for our students so that they can become lifelong readers who love reading and can engage in robust literature conversations. For our students, many of whom have limited life experiences, when they open a book, they open a world of opportunities and possibilities, and with few books in many of our family homes, our students are eager to read whenever and wherever, even outside during recess! Thank you for your support!
