St. Joseph School is a small K-9 school that relies on fundraisers like the Indigo Adopt a School Program and Scholastic Book Fairs to bring in new books and resources for our students.
Last year, with the help of the Dalhousie Chapters, we raised over $3000 toward new books and Makerspace resources for our Library Learning Commons.
The St. Joseph Makerspace, located in the Learning Commons, is a supportive learning environment where our students have the opportunity to collaborate with others to Design, Build, Invent, Create, and Share their ideas. We were able to, through donations and fundraising, stock our space with resources like Lego, K'nex, Straws & Connectors, Origami books and paper, several 3D pens, and much more! Our Learning Commons Team will be continuing to improve upon our Makerspace during the 1819 school year.
Thank you for supporting our school and our students now and in the future!
Our Favorite Summer Reads This Year:
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
2. Wings of Fire
3. Harry Potter
4. Spy School
6. The Mother-Daughter Book Club
Our students would love to see more _____ in our Makerspace.
a. Sudoku puzzles
b. 3D pens
e. Monopoly and other board games
f. Animation (books and resources)
Thank you to everyone that supported our school during this online fundraiser. We look forward to bringing in some new resources with the money that we raised. Have a wonderful rest of the school year!
Our students love being able to build and create in our new Makerspace.
Last week, our students were asked, "What were your favorite books this summer?" Harry Potter, Wings of Fire, and Spy School were high on the list. See the full list on the main St. Joseph Adopt a School page.
