Cumberland Community School

Nom du directeur ou de la directrice : Tracey Croonen We serve a rural community that relies deeply on the school library. Many of our resources are old/out of date/falling apart due to overuse. Our middle grade students are at a particular disadvantage because our selection is so minimal that reading tends to drop off among this age group. We often make inter-library requests with other high schools but we find that the longer students have to wait, the less interested they become in reading. We also have many students from a disadvantaged background who do not have a lot of literacy support at home and learn to read quite late for their age category.
