Joseph Howe Elementary

Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse 340 / 226 livres donnés

Nom du directeur ou de la directrice : Steve Hutchins The library at Joseph Howe is in dire need of new books. This is a low income, high needs community. The only fundraising we have to buy new books is a scholastic book fair in which I use most of my budget to make the quota in order to get some free books. With such a small budget the money doesn't go very far. We are a very diverse School representing thirteen nationality's. It would be nice to have books from those countries so that our students can learn about new places and make new comers feel welcome. Our literacy goal is to help all student become better readers; but, it is very difficult when we don't have enough books at the correct reading levels for our students. This grant would mean we could bring our library up to date with books of high interest, at the correct reading level so that our students can flourish.
