Nom du directeur ou de la directrice : Jason Whaley Budget constraints are always an issue for schools with many departments looking for funding that seems to get increasingly smaller. We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways of fundraising to provide for the library to take the strain off the dwindling school budget. Having a well-stocked library with up-to-date reading and research material is a must to keep students interested in reading and using their library. Last year we received funding through the adopt-a-school program and students were thrilled to have brand new books in their hands. We were able to replace and throw out worn copies of student favorites - many less books held together with tape and glue. Every year is a struggle to keep the library materials up-to-date and in good condition. With the infusion of new books our statistics showed a whopping 28% increase in checkouts for the 2017-18 school year! That is nothing short of amazing and we are looking ahead to 2018-19 to keep the momentum going! We need our parents and community to help us reach our goal of putting a new book in the hands of each NHS student.
