The Children's Village School is a unique setting elementary school setting designed to support students with complex social, emotional and learning challenges. Many of our students are reading below grade level and require individualized programs to support them. One of the difficulties we have are older aged students that are reading at low grade levels. We desperately need low level books that are of high interest for our older students. Many of our books are over 10 years old and we know that our younger learners would love the opportunity to read and have books that are newer and more relevant to what they are experiencing right now. When our students have "just right" or appropriate books for their reading levels their confidence and growth in reading is exponential. Our main focus this year will be to develop our classroom libraries. We need books in each classroom at appropriate reading levels that are engaging and interesting to instill a love of reading. Please help our students grow.
